Welcome to the 2nd Semester of iStudy of Matthew

The time to learn about the life of Jesus is NOW! Join us as we begin the second semester on our study of the Gospel of Matthew this January, 2021. You are not late, because the best is yet to come!

The Gospel of Matthew is first of the four differing but harmonious biographies of Jesus. This one is written from the perspective of Matthew, a tax collector, who would have been ranked by the Jews with the lowest of human society – sinners, prostitutes and Gentiles. If you intended to change today’s world, would a loser like Matthew be on your team? or worse yet, your biographer? Probably not. But God’s long awaited Messiah, the King of Kings, would radically transformed Matthew and the world.

We learn of Matthew first meeting Jesus in MT 9 after Jesus got out of the boat in Capernaum. A paralytic was brought to him and Jesus said to the man “Be encouraged, my child! Your sins are forgiven.” This caused a dust up with the religious leaders who said to themselves, “That’s blasphemy! Does he think he’s God?” Jesus spoke to their evil thinking saying “Is it easier to say ‘Your sins are forgiven’ or ‘Stand up and walk’?… Then Jesus turned to the paralyzed man and said, “Stand up, pick up your mat, and go home!” And the man jumped up and went home!

As Jesus passed on from there, He saw a man named Matthew sitting at his tax collector’s booth, and He said to him, “Follow me.” And he rose and followed Him. MT 9:9  His sovereign words transformed this hated tax collector then and those who hear His calling ‘Follow me’ today.

Whether you’ve been following Jesus for years or have just responded to His ‘Follow Me’,. Jesus is calling you to leave your tax booth/comfort zone behind and invest yourself in the iStudy of Matthew. And like Matthew, He will change your life. Join now!
