Did you ever stop and think what you are going through right now is being allowed by God to glorify Himself? Listen to what Mike Harding has to say on this difficult topic:

I don’t know where you are in your life or what you are going through. Some of us have a more difficult path than others, but no one on this side of heaven has been able to escape suffering. Jesus speaks to a man who is blind in Mark 10:46-52 and heals his sight. But before that takes place, the crowd tries to silence his cries for mercy:

46 …Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, the son of Timaeus, was sitting by the roadside. 47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”48 And many rebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” Mark 10:46-48

Do you ever wonder what you are supposed to be learning in a particular situation? Or, as you walk through a difficult event, do you ever ask “why”? As Mike mentions, it is human nature to wonder why. Our focus shouldn’t be the “why”, but the how. How can I draw nearer to God during this time? Look at the scripture and learn from the blind man. What did he do when the crowd tried to silence him? He cried out even louder for Jesus.

”48 And many rebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” Mark 10:48

Are you crying out louder for Jesus? Do you have your mind focused on Him? Are you praying continuously asking Him to show you the way? As followers of Christ, we must do all we can to draw nearer to Him as we walk through these times. And if we are blind to what God is doing, we must ask Him to give us eyes to see where He is being glorified.
