Is Jesus king in your life?
This week our study of Mark took us to Mark 11:1-11. Micki Harding shares some insight into this passage:
After thinking about this section of the lecture, I asked myself: Do I live like Jesus is the King of my life? Do I consider what He wants me to do each day? Am I allowing Him to “drive” my life? Or do I struggle and fight Him for control?
How do I yield to Him and make Him king of my life?
A morning meeting with Jesus is the best way to start my day. I need to leave my “to do” list at His feet and ask him to direct my steps. Am I responding to people out of His love for them? Or out of my frustration? Am I serving others to make myself look good or because Jesus desires me to have a servant’s heart? Keeping in constant communication with my King throughout the day, helps me to keep my heart yielded to Him.
When I stop to think about it, I need to yield ALL things to him, not just the easy things. Each thought, idea, and event needs to be covered in prayer and laid at Jesus’ feet.
“The Lord is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.” Proverbs 15:29 (ESV)
“…The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.” James 5:16 (ESV)
As I communicate with Him, read His word and prayerfully ask Him to lead me each day, I become more like Him. And He becomes my true King.
